In this video, you'll discover how healthy stress differs from toxic stress, why resilience is built through support as much as struggle, and how healthcare providers, caregivers, and leaders can create environments where people grow without being unnecessarily harmed. I'll answer questions like:
"Doesn't adversity builds character"
*If challenge and stress help us grow, should we be trying to
reduce them at all?*
"If challenge is good for us, why spend so much time teaching people how to prevent medical trauma?"
Building self-worth and resilience through coaching empowers anyone we coach - whether it be a team, a child, or a friend. Keep it real, friends.
"Average players want to be left alone. Good players want to be coached. Great players want to be told the truth." — Doc Rivers
You can challenge me on this, but in my experience self-worth is the foundation for any good (and the cause of most bad) mental health issues. Companies are smart who help their teams build self-worth, and the same is true for parents.
“Love yourself first and everything else falls into line. You really have to love yourself to get anything done in this world.” – Lucille Ball
“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained.” – Marie Curie
“If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint,’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced.” – Vincent Van Gogh
